This past year has been a whirlwind of new advances in social media and digital marketing. Instagram unveiled more options for businesses, Facebook’s advertising is even more streamlined, and SnapChat is no longer just for teens. As with any diligent marketing agency, we’ve kept up with the latest trends so that you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the holidays…
Have you done the legwork to make sure that your business is in tip-top shape to head into the end of 2017? If you haven’t, you’ll have to delay sitting back and relaxing until you make sure that you’re ready to hit 2018 with a bang! Luckily for you, we’ve compiled the top three things that you should have accomplished in 2017 with your business’ marketing.
1. Live Video & Stories – It’s no secret that powerhouse Facebook bought Instagram a few years ago, but it’s really become an impressive marketing tool that your company might be missing out on. This year, we saw the rise of Live Video and Stories added to our timelines, and it’s been such an incredible year for personalization of your business with these tools. If you’re not using Facebook Live with your business, you’re missing out on communicating with your ideal prospects in real time! Both Facebook and Instagram Stories allow for a deeper connection with your followers and create a sense of urgency around your message. 2. Marketing & Financial Forecasting – Do you know the data behind your marketing? Do you know how people find your business, your website, and your social media? Do you know what they do once they get there? If your answers were anything other than a resounding “yes,” we should talk. There is so much data behind digital marketing, that it can be used to predict your sales and growth over the coming year. If you’re putting the time, money, and energy into digital marketing– why aren’t you tracking the results? Maybe you’re slammed with work, or maybe numbers just aren’t your thing. Either way, building your marketing with goals and thought behind the process is vital for your business’ continued success.
3. Mobile Friendly Website – If you don’t have a mobile-friendly website by the end of 2017, then we’ve got bigger fish to fry than can be covered in one blog post. Google unveiled it’s mobile index earlier this year, and if you’re not onboard, then you’ll be swiftly left in the dust– if you haven’t been, already. Google (and other search engines) know that their target markets are on their phones, and they are continuously updating their requirements for your website and social media. Your website should work just as well on a phone or tablet as it does on a laptop, and spending time making this happen is worth it. There’s no rest for the mobile-unfriendly website, and there should be no rest for you until you test your website to determine where you stand.
If you haven’t been able to accomplish these three things in 2017, there’s still hope! Perhaps you use them to form your goals for Q118. Maybe start building your action plan before you head out for the holidays, and consider that a win, for now. Whatever your goals, we’re here to help.
